Nutrition and Fitness – Understand Their Importance for Your Health

Unlike olden days, people are now giving importance to health and overall fitness. There are now numerous companies in the market that are selling slimming products and providing different treatments. With every passing year, a new research comes up stating that nutrition and fitness have a strong relationship and both cannot be ignored at all. All of us live in a busy world with our own stress and tension and a proper healthy body is the only thing that keeps us going. So, it is crucial for us to understand that keeping ourselves healthy is extremely important.

Nutrition Helps Fitness

“You are what you eat”. For sure you must have heard this many times. Of course it may also have annoyed you at times, but this old saying is just true and that is the reason why it is repeated again and again. Your health is totally dependent on what you eat. You feel good if you are eating well and if you eat unhealthily you will fall ill.

Food that is full of essential nutrients will provide you with lot of energy and only after acquiring this energy you can do all your physical works. In simple words, the food that you consume affects every aspect of your life.

Also, good health habits will enhance your overall performance. It will help you look and feel great about everything you do. You could also use natural supplements like the Garcinia Cambogia extract for achieving great health and fitness levels. If you continue eating right, your body will not only remain healthy, but you will also be able to keep away from several diseases and illnesses.

Nutritional value of food is important to know:

Usually, we focus more on the taste value of the food instead of its nutritional value. No doubt, we always want our food to be tasty, but we should also consider that how healthy that food is. After all, we all are aware of the fact that good and healthy food and healthy habits will keep us moving effectively in our personal as well as professional lives.

Therefore, it is important that we check the nutritional value of the food that we consume. Calorie content, minerals and vitamins are the thing that has to be there in our food. They are what our body needs the most.

Role of regular exercise in fitness:

Consuming healthy diet and exercising regularly go hand in hand. Most of the people think that if they exercise regularly they can probably eat anything and everything. Well, this is not at all correct. This is like you are following only half of the equation and thus giving only minimum to your body than what it requires.

Also, many people think that they can slim down by stopping the necessary consumption of food. Well, this is wrong too. It has to be balanced. Nutrition is very important to keep you body healthy and so is a good workout. If you consult any health expert, you will know that all of them suggest a proper combination of healthy food and appropriate workout.

If you really wish to stay healthy and perform all your daily tasks effectively you need to understand the importance of both nutrients and fitness in life. Both these factors help us in maintaining our body in proper health. Also, remember having one without other will never help you.

Healthy Heart Tips

Give up smoking

If you’re a smoker, quit. It’s the single best thing you can do for your heart health.

Smoking is one of the main causes of coronary heart disease. A year after giving up, your risk of a heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.

You’re more likely to stop smoking for good if you use NHS stop smoking services. Visit the Smokefree website or ask your GP for help with quitting.

Get active

Getting – and staying – active can reduce your risk of developing heart disease. It can also be a great mood booster and stress buster.

Do 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity every week. One way to achieve this target is by doing 30 minutes of activity on five days a week. Fit it in where you can, such as by cycling to work.

Manage your weight

Being overweight can increase your risk of heart disease. Stick to a healthy, balanced diet low in fat and sugar, with plenty of fruit and vegetables, combined with regular physical activity.

Find out if you are a healthy weight with the BMI calculator. If you’re overweight, try our 12-week weight loss plan.

Eat more fibre

Eat plenty of fibre to help lower your risk of heart disease – aim for at least 30g a day. Eat fibre from a variety of sources, such as wholemeal bread, bran, oats and wholegrain cereals, potatoes with their skins on, and plenty of fruit and veg.

Cut down on saturated fat

Eating too many foods that are high in saturated fat can raise the level of cholesterol in your blood. This increases your risk of heart disease. Choose leaner cuts of meat and lower-fat dairy products like 1% fat milk over full-fat (or whole) milk.

Eat fish

Eat fish at least twice a week, including a portion of oily fish. Fish such as mackerel, sardines, fresh tuna and salmon are a source of omega-3 fats, which can help protect against heart disease.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women shouldn’t have more than two portions of oily fish a week.

 Drink less alcohol

Don’t forget alcohol contains calories. Regularly drinking more than the NHS recommends can have a noticeable impact on your waistline. Try to keep to the recommended daily alcohol limits to reduce the risk of serious problems with your health, including risks to your heart health.

Read the food label

When shopping, it’s a good idea to look at the label on food and drink packaging to see how many calories and how much fat, salt and sugar the product contains. Understanding what is in food and how it fits in with the rest of your diet will help you make healthier choices.

There is abundance, joy, passion, sensuality and pleasure to be had in your beautiful life, and working with your personal power of beauty is a strategy for claiming even more. Your personal power of beauty is a treasure to behold, a way to be bold and a powerful journey for you to unfold. Beneath the surface of your skin is the story of your beauty, and this is the story that is meant to be told.

The personal power of beauty is a magical tool that enhances all aspects of your existence to a more majestic and magnificent experience. Beauty is the source of your personal magic; it is the essence of who you are, it connects you to others and to the plenty of this planet.

What is beauty? Where does it come from? Who has it?
When you think of beauty is it something you know you have within you? Or does beauty seem like something elusive and outside of you?

All people are beautiful, and it is our essential nature to radiate this beautiful truth.

The Beauty is on the Inside

Years ago, I saw an ad that I loved for Burt’s Bee’s products. The photo was of a group of Harley-type bikers, you know, heavy set men, grimacing, hairy and looking kind of scary. The caption on the ad said “The Beauty is on the Inside”. It couldn’t be clearer, beneath the packaging is where you will find true Beauty, it’s on the Inside. This ad cracked me up, just thinking about it still makes me smile; the message was so clear, powerful and beautifully stated. Beauty comes from within, it emanates through the skin and vibrates around us.

Each of us has our own personal beauty, it is the unique essence of who we are, like our signature or thumb print, it is exclusively our own. Our personal beauty or inner beauty stems from the heart, our center of love. Our center of love is the vital force of our spirit, and the vital force of our spirits spring from the source of all life: Whether it be God, Goddess, Great Spirit, Energy, Vibration, the Creator, Nature, the Divine or the Force it is all the same source. Whatever you believe to be the divine spark of life within you; whatever you equate to the magic of your existence; however you understand life with its complexities and perfections and which ever way you account for the air that is your breath and the fire of your spirit all stems from the source of life, and the beauty within you is a part of the package. Our beauty is a divine light that sparks through each cell of our being. You truly can never be anything but beautiful, for you are life and life itself is beauty.

When you understand the source of beauty within you, you then have access to its potential for your greater abundance, power and ability to manifest change. The power of your beauty is already embedded in your essence, ready to glow. However, it is harnessed through your beliefs about yourself and the actions you take in the name of truth, beauty and love. You are born with the tools to become a channel for this very compelling and influential vibration. You are the vehicle for this sacred source to shimmer and shine.

Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty

“Beauty is truth, truth beauty. That is all ye know on Earth, and all ye need to know.” -John Keats.
We live in a world where our concepts of beauty are decided by the collective consciousness, the standards of our society. Many of us, especially women, are victims of what is known as the ‘beauty myth’. A world where fashion rules, perfect body types are most desired and our ways of looking and being are all meant to sell or consume products: beauty products, fragrances, diet pills, hair color, fashion magazines, douches etc. But that is not what true beauty is made of. The truth is we are already whole and complete beings, we are all perfect because we are each perfectly ourselves. What is true is that beauty is everywhere and within everything. For everything on earth and in the universe is of the divine source. Unfortunately, many of us were not taught to honor our own beauty in this way. We were warned against being too conceited or told we were not beautiful enough and sadly so many beautiful people have never had their own precious nature reflected back to them. We hide our beauty in the shadows, even the super models complain about places within themselves that they find hideous. In subtle and not so subtle ways we have been disempowered and misdirected by the media to seeing ourselves as less than the ideal of beauty. Every commercial on television is an assault, telling us what we need to do to be better, happier and more beautiful. This is the beauty myth and it can destroy our sense of self-esteem and even destroy the joy in our lives, it already has for so many people.

As adults, we need to re-teach ourselves where true beauty comes from. We need to re-connect to the radiant source of life within us and teach this to our children. True beauty comes from the heart and soul and spirit of who you truly are, it is your divine right to resonate with self-love and allow your beauty to take the stage. Your authenticity is buzzing with beauty. Life is love, love is truth and truth is beauty. All of life is sacred and all of life is beautiful. Beauty and truth are hand in hand, one does not exist without the other.

6 Smart Tips for Buying the Best Sunscreen

It is highly crucial to protect oneself from the harmful ultraviolet radiations of the sun, especially during the hot summer season, thus staying away from dehydration risks, excessive tanning, and skin cancer. Sunscreen lotions and creams play a very important role in achieving the above objective. Though, you should not pick up any sunscreen lotion that you come across in the market. There are few aspects that you need to take into consideration before buying a sunscreen for your skin. Here are few smart tips for buying the best sunscreen.

  • The first thing that you have to keep in mind when buying a sunscreen is to opt for an organic sunscreen rather than a chemical-based sunscreen. If you have been using a chemical sunscreen earlier, you have not been using a safe one owing to the dangerous chemical ingredients. Since the harmful chemical ingredients are absorbed by the skin, they can upset the hormonal balance, generate gender bending impacts, and cause skin diseases like skin cancer or premature ageing. On the other hand, organic or natural sunscreens form a natural barrier over the skin.
  • Secondly, you have to choose a sunscreen with the right Sun Protection Factor (SPF), which is a measure of the efficiency of the sunscreen to obstruct the damaging rays of the sun. Ideally, SPF should be more than 30 and less than 60.  A sunscreen lotion or cream with SPF 30 will obstruct approximately 97-percent of the harmful rays.
  • Look for sunscreens that are water resistant or water proof. Water resistant sunscreens are known to preserve their SPF for around forty minutes of water activity, while water proof sunscreens are known to maintain their SPF for close to eighty minutes. So, based on your needs, you can decide amongst the two.
  • The best sunscreen should block UVB as well as UVA, meaning it should be broad spectrum. So, when searching for sunscreens, look for such lotions. To make sure that a sunscreen provides broad spectrum coverage, it should compulsorily contain one of these ingredients- Mexoryl, avoenzone, titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
  • Whenever you buy sunscreens, make it a point to read the ingredients listed on the label. Few of the organic sunscreens may also contain chemicals in them. By reading the ingredients, you can be sure that no chemicals are added to it.
  • If you possess sensitive skin, choose sunscreens that contain only titanium or zinc. Many sunscreen manufacturers have made the lotions more cosmetic appealing and they tend to safeguard longer, while being less irritating also.

The above tips can help you to choose the best sunscreen for protecting your skin. Additionally, you can ask few questions for yourself like-

  • When will you use the sunscreen?
  • How long will it usually last?
  • How often do you need to re-apply it?

These questions can also help you make the right choice. If you are out in the sun for a long time, you may need to re-apply it every hour or so.

How to Define Undertone of your Skin

Knowing the right tone of your skin can be helpful in many ways, but a common problem is learning how to define undertone of your skin correctly by doing simple skin undertones test.

You can determine the best shade of lipstick or observe which hair color will look the best on you. Follow these steps to determine the complexion.

What Factors Define Undertone of your Skin and few ways of doing your skin undertones test?

Your skin tone doesn’t refer to the shade of your skin or undertone of your skin, but it relates to the appearance of your skin. For those who don’t know what factors define undertone, skin tone is determined by the pigments present in your skin, which do not change due to sun exposure. Keep this in mind that your skin tone is not the same as you see on the surface. You may have pink or rough skin, but your skin tone may be yellow. Always use natural light to observe your skin tone.

One od]f the simplest skin undertones test is by looking at the colour of your veins on the inside of the wrist. If it appears blue or purple, you have got a cool skin tone. If it seems green, the skin tone is warm. When you’re unable to decide the skin tone, it means your skin has neutral skin tone.

Moreover, you should observe how your skin reacts to the sun. Do you tan easily? Or get rashes? The amount of melanin in your skin decided how it reacts to the sun. Easily tanned skin is likely to have neutral or warm skin tone. If it burns and doesn’t tan, then you have cool skin tone.

Using your skin to choose colors

define undertone

Observe your skin tone in neutral light to find your complexion. Your appearance refers to the surface of your skin such as fair, medium or dark. You shall be able to determine the color by observing the skin color of the jaw line.

If your skin tends to get tanned and burn in the sun, then you have light skin. If you tan very easily and rarely burn, you have a medium skin tone.

Your skin tone is a very efficient method to decide on the color of clothes you should wear that suits you the most. Warm skin tones should try neutral like cream, warm red, yellow or orange. Cool undertone shall try purple, pink or navy.

Also, consider your skin tone to decide your lipstick shade. For the light skin, you may try pink, nude, raspberry or mocha. If you have medium skin tone, go for rose, mauve or red cherry. If you have cool undertones, look for metallic shades in ruby red or a dark wine shade.

Hope you’d have understood how to define undertone of your skin and how to select the right colors according to your skin tone by taking these small and simple skin undertones tests.
